crappy start to the morning

So I have to go to work today! First day back in 4 weeks. The boys are playing outside before we leave and one of them comes in and says "mom, there is a dead rat or mouse or something outside." Well crap! I ask where is it, he says come here I'll show you. So I go out side and it is beside the gate into the back yard, right by the back yard. If you ask me a cat probably grabbed and left it there when it got startled by the dogs. So I can't just leave the little dead mangled piece of *feces* there, I have to clean it up. But what to pick it up with. The shovel is in the shed. which is in the back yard, which is where the dogs are. (Open gate, dog runs!) So I have to use a box to scoop up and throw out (luckily today is trash day). After scooping dead carcass into box, I get to see maggots. I haven't eaten breakfast yet, not sure I want to now. Scream more like shriek boys come running and cant stand the smell that has been left behind.
Lovely morning!

Meanwhile, Spanky's reading about radioactive Granite. Did he poke his head out the window when you screamed and tell you to keep it down?

I was already at work. I didn't see the rat.
If I was at home I would have been the one picking it up.

I'm betting every one of your mornings starts off *feces*ty. No, THIS is a *feces*ty day. And I'm warning you, it's gross (but not dirty) ...

what no pictures? was this the 3" variety or the 1' variety? briefly thought about, but not what I really wanted to do. I would say 6" long and probably left there by a cat that got scared off by the dogs.
