I'm interested in your take on it. To me, it's dripping with arrogance. Especially the last line. (LOL which I rarely get to, but this one had me. ) Spitz, snubbed.

As to the arrogance: I see your point, but did he say anything that wasn't accurate? Immodest, sure.
If I were running the network, I'd have invited him on the condition that he grow the 'stache back. If I'm gonna haul his ass halfway 'round the world and put a camera on him, he damn well better be immediately recognizable to folks.

LMAO! Excellent point. As to the arrogance: I see your point, but did he say anything that wasn't accurate? Immodest, sure. Agreed. Not at all. No question he should be boastful. He earned it, no doubt. I duuno, just seemed weird either the way it was written or the way he said it. (kept interjecting himself into the picture)

To be honest, I'm unaware of any champion caliber athlete who is terribly modest about his ability/achievements. I think part of what lurks in the heart of a champion is the belief that he is the best in the world at what he does.

It would be cool if Mark Spitz would have given him his 8th gold medal, which would be carried on a pillow by an attending Farrah Fawcett.

Blader it would be cool for you if she still looked the same as she did in the seventies, alas poor Farah and plastic surgery have not fared well together.
