Somehow, I don't think it would work in reverse, if a bunch of westerners imitated the likes of Ayumi Hamasaki, Chage and Aska, Seiko Matsuda, members of the Onyanko Club, Kosaka Kazuya, Eikichi Yazawa or any others.
In fact, I'm not so sure it worked in forward
(ps, once I figured out what was going on, I predicted in my mind, that the Michael Jackson impersonator would be spot on. Japanese MJ impersonators are our Elvis'. They probably had big numbers auditioning for that roll.)
