[Politics/Religion] That went well

I've played a few rounds at the club over the past few weeks.  A lot of these guys at the club are like me....they own businesses, work in the financial sector, are developers, etc.  They don't get their news from the news.  The business guy and developer gets his news from his banker, who calls to withdraw a line of credit.  Companies in good standing, who are credit worthy, have to pull up the stakes.  Because it is all about cash flow, and when the cash stops flowing they don't meet payroll.

They are starting to lay off PRECISELY the workers who don't really understand how the cash flow operates in the companies they work for, the ones who think they'll feel better if we just go ahead and punish the IBankers.  As the Senator from Idaho says.

I played with a financial market guy (works at a major bank) who said we were 45 min from the China Syndrome a couple of weeks ago.  The AIG bailout saved the day

By not passing this bill, Congress has once again played to the lowest, uneducated, base element. 

Best I can tell, only the extremes on both ends of the political spectrum were against this.  Why do people hate pragmatism?


btw, I'm bullish on the copulation sector and encourage you to remain so.  At the end of the day, a good bout of copulation can get you through these rough times.

In case you guys are missing it, here's what's happening:

A guy just pulled up to my house in a chauffered Town Car, walked up, pulled out a gun and said:

'Give me 2500 dollars or I'll shoot your dog'.

I said:

'I don't have 2500 bucks. The dogs incontinent at both ends, blind, and deaf. I haven't had the heart to shoot him myself.'

Then he pulled out a flamethrower and said:

'Give me 2500 bucks or I'll burn your house down'.

I said:

'The roof leaks and it's not worth what I paid for it. If you burn it down, I only have to pay the difference.'

Then he said:

'Give me 800 bucks this paycheck, 800 bucks next paycheck, and 700 bucks the paycheck after or I'll burn your entire neighborhood down'.

It was an offer I couldn't refuse, obviously.
